in other news, i believe my layers include: io (as always), hester, margaret thatcher, rosa parks, abbey—with ruby, magdalene, lola and romona being maybes. i am not sure if the chickens are laying infrequently or just not laying. i am getting at least five eggs a day these days, the blues ones are kind of small, the banty ones are incredibly small. hesters are, as promised, chocolate brown. production might be ramping up...its hard to tell if i've just caught them at the wrong time or if they are producing that many eggs.

there are very noisy, much noisier than my first flock.
but still delightful.
