chicken run

starting tomorrow the chickens will be caged up in their run on a more permenant basis. for the sake of the yard and the sake of the chickens.

the grass is a mess and i'd like to give it some fertilizer and a chance to spruce itself back up a little. my guess is that i will let them out in the late evenings—6pm or so during the week and allow them their freedom all day on saturday or sunday.

also, they aren't eating their layer feed, or at least not very much of it from what i can tell. i'm not sure why this is, but they just don't seem interested. i even switched brands, no go. they are into sunflower seeds and their chicken scratch, but their interest is off and on.

so, after a few days "in the hole" i am sure they will stoop to eating chicken food.
